‘Altered Beauty’ is about a girl who tries to reaffirm herself and express her personal identity through clothes in a very chaotic and crowded city.
The places used as location are vestiges that reflect the tension between the old and the actual world, and the outfits do the same as well.
She tries really hard to not be influenced by the current harmful habits that our society has, but she ended up wearing a skirt fully made of plastic.
Finally she lays in a building’s entrance in a brief moment of calm, but deep inside the disturbing feeling is inevitable.
The theme of this story is the disturbing times we are all living, how that affects our state of mind and determines the current fashion design processes and the visual language that surround us, and finally the importance to find physical and psychological spaces that comfort us, take care and conserve them.
We find inspiration by creating images that reflects our interest in contemporary fashion, modernist architecture and ecological conflicts.
Trying to find a way to mix all that subjects in one project, that’s why we used sustainable and up-cycling brands with a handmade plastic skirt for example.
