ニューヨークを拠点に活動するアーティスト Daniel Arshamの個展「31st Century Still Lifes」が、ペロタン東京にて10月15日（土）まで開催中。

振付家 Merce Cunninghamの下でステージデザインのキャリアをスタートしたDaniel Arshamは、その経験の中でジャンルの垣根を超えた活動をしたいとの想いを抱くように。

過去と未来を融合し、時代の歩みを考えさせる作品を制作しながら、さまざまなブランドやアーティストとのコラボレーション、教育と社会的公正を目的としたチャリティ活動などに熱心に取り組むなど、精力的な活動を続けている。

同会場で2回目の個展となる今展は、3つの新しい作品シリーズを発表。
メインギャラリーにはインパスト（厚塗り）技法を用いたシリーズの静物画5点と、ブロンズとステンレスを組み合わせた「amalgamated series」から彫刻2点が展示。

また隣のギャラリーでは、「fictional archaeology（フィクションとしての考古学）」シリーズよりArshamを特徴づける地質学的素材で制作された、ハイドロストーンを使った映画作品「E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial」、「Back to the Future」、「2001：A Space Odysey（邦題：2001年宇宙の旅）」のポスター3点が展示される。

Arshamが呼び起こす、20世紀の瞬間。
過去と未来が混在する空間で「今」への歩みを感じて。
