Purity can be interpreted in various ways, and we chose to express this concept through the lenses of childhood and nature.
Our aim was to depict a girl exploring her identity in the external world, gradually learning to navigate the harsh realities while remaining true to her purest self.
This project holds deep personal significance for us, and we infused it with many personal touches.
As women growing up in our present society, we recognize that the journey is not always easy. Hence, the incorporation of elements of childishness and femininity is evident throughout our work.
In our opinion, there is no specific theme as we aimed to maintain the idea of ‘purity’ as open as possible.
We want everyone to be able to relate to and appreciate the images, finding a way to connect them to their own interpretation of purity.
Overall, we sought to keep the concept fresh and youthful.
The decision to shoot in an outdoor setting was a significant choice that we believe strongly supports the theme of exploration.
We drew inspiration from nature and our personal lives.
Coming from two different cultures, we had vastly different childhoods yet shared many similar experiences as little girls.
This shared ‘girlhood’ experience became a starting point for us, where we developed the concept of purity.
Our childhoods were mostly spent outdoors, connected to nature in the early 00s when technology wan not the main source of entertainment.
We cherish fond memories of being outside, experiencing a sense of tranquility and spirituality.
On personal note, we believe that we work together in a very open manner.
Throughout the entire creative process, we incorporated new inspirations along the way, leading to the development of this final output.
