カナダを拠点に活動する画家 Gahee Parkによる個展「Eveningness」が、ペロタン東京にて2月25日（土）まで開催中。

韓国で生まれたGahee Parkは、現在カナダのモントリオールを拠点に、生まれ育ったソウルや以前住んでいた米国での観察からインスピレーションを得て制作。

そのペインティングは個性的かつ幻想的であり、日常にあるものや行為を挑発的に描いた場面を通して、家庭内における親密性や欲望を探究している。

ペロタン東京で初となる今展で披露される多くは、時間の経過について探求し、季節と光の変化を利用しながら、過去と現在における特定の瞬間に言及するもの。

Parkの作品に常に登場するテーマである、見る、観察、のぞき見を示唆するモチーフが描かれた「Fruit, Flowers, and Flies」や、彼女のプラクティスに内在する心理的緊張と奇想のバランスが際立つ「Domaine de Fatigue」などが並ぶ。

官能的な身体描写や空想的なポートレートは鑑賞者を彼女の世界や体験へと誘い込み、その周囲に描かれた細部がそれぞれの作品の物語や文脈を伝えている。
