世界中が新型コロナウイルスによって生活を脅かされる中、多大な影響を受けている都市のひとつニューヨークで、クイーンズのエルムハースト病院を写真を通じて支援するプロジェクト「Pictures For Elmhurst」が、7名のクリエイターによって立ち上げられた。

今プロジェクトは4月10日（金）から4月20日（月）までの10日間、Pictures For Elmhurstのウェブサイトで実施されており、187名にも及ぶ写真家が自身の作品を提供し、期間限定でプリントセールを行うといった内容。

参加している写真家には世界に名を馳せるPaul GrahamやMark Borthwick、David Lynch、Alec Sothなどをはじめ、その他にも「LOEWE」や「MIU MIU」のキャンペーンヴィジュアルでもお馴染みのJamie Hawkesworthや新世代のフェミニズムを牽引するアーティストの1人 Petra Collins、また、独特な作風で鑑賞者の心を刺激するJack DaivsonやLena C. Emery、Estelle Hananiaなど錚々たる顔ぶれが揃う。

過去にLula JAPANでも作品を撮り下ろしてくれた川内倫子やMartin Parr、Hart Lëshkinaも作品を提供している。

それぞれのプリントは1枚＄150で販売されており、印刷や包装にかかる費用を差し引いた利益はすべてエルムハースト病院へ寄付され、新型コロナウイルスの治療に必要な救命器具へと当てられる。
